Jeralyn Ellis, 43, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born on December 13, 1981, in Casas Grandes, Mexico, and was adopted by Jerry Lee and Susan Lee Rothey Ellis. She was adored from the moment they set eyes on her, enjoying every bit of her spit-fire disposition. Jeralyn grew up in Ogden and attended junior high school before moving to Uintah and graduating from Bonneville High School.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jeralyn had a fun loving, outgoing personality. She had the amazing ability to make friends with all she interacted with and was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed traveling to South America, Hawaii, and many other destinations with her good friends. It was important to her to give back to her heritage, while serving with the Ayuda en Mexico (AEM) organization, she loved to spend time with her birth family.
Her family was her pride and joy and she dedicated her life to the happiness of her three children and two grandchildren. She would drop everything if any one of her kids needed something. She never missed any important event her kids were a part of and always considered it a priority.
Jeralyn would always say “I’m almost there”, but she was actually 20 minutes away.
You could say she was a modern day Mary Poppins with the amount of random stuff she kept inside her bag such as Ande’s Mints, melted chocolate, spare change, earrings, and lots of gum.
Jeralyn, we hope you know of our love for you, of your importance and beauty in our family. We will forever miss you.
Jeralyn is survived by her children, Elijah (Sakura) Ellis, Braxton Givan (Cambree), and Brinnlee Givan (Ryley Warner); her two grandchildren, Leo and Valerie Ellis; her parents, Jerry and Susan Ellis; and her siblings, Terri (Patrick) Johnson, Nadine (Brent) Knight, Charles (Sonja) Ellis, Jim (Peggy) Ellis, Zach Ellis, and Luke (Autumn) Ellis. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susie Ellis; infant sister, Tracy Ellis; and her grandparents.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday March 2, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Uintah 1st Ward Chapel, 6660 South 1775 East. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
Jeralyn loved bright colors. In her honor, we would ask that you please wear bright colors to the services.
