Jerrald Lloyd Baxter “Jerry”

Jerrald Lloyd Baxter, 78, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 in South Ogden, Utah.
He was born March 9, 1940 in Ogden, Utah to Edward Lloyd and Bernice Dopp Baxter. He attended schools in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. He also attended Weber State University and Ogden Weber Applied Technology Center, where he earned an Associate Degree.
He married Laura Turner and they later divorced. On June 7, 1968, Jerry married Carol Diane Bateman in the Logan LDS Temple. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in August 2016. Jerry and Diane were foster parents for a few years.
He retired from DDO as a warehouseman. He kept busy working at Deseret Industries, Weber State University, Walmart and he also owned his own yard care business.
He enjoyed muscle cars, art, family gatherings and was an avid reader. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane, his parents, one sister Gwen Gelta and his in-laws, Eugene and LaVon Bateman.
He is survived by his brother Michael Allred, Farmington; in-laws, Cheryl and Brad Smith, California; Bonnie and Jim Tenney, Idaho; Don and Becky Bateman, South Ogden; Kathy and Steve Palmer, South Ogden; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
A special thank you to the nurses and CNA’s at South Ogden Post Acute (Manor Care) for the kindness and care they gave Jerry during the last six years.
