Jerry John Brandon "Frosty Top"
KAYSVILLE - Jerry John Brandon, 75, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010. He fought a valiant battle with kidney failure. He was known to his family as a "gentle giant".
Jerry was born on February 23, 1935 to Harold and Selma Brandon in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. On February 20, 1956, he married Venena Janet Daniels Wells in New Westminster, B.C. Canada.
He served in the Marines as a Corporal and was stationed on the USS York Town. Some of Jerry''s hobbies were love of golfing, hunting, camping, woodwork, dancing and bowling. He was also involved in the Knights of Columbus, Elector for the Catholic Church. After 39 years of service, he retired from Hill Airforce Base. After retirement, he worked 15 years as groundskeeper at Oakridge Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Venena of Kaysville, four sons; Jerrywayne (Christine) Brandon, South Weber, Harold (Pam) Brandon, Ogden, Dennis (Kim) Brandon, Roy and David (Nicole) Brandon, Clinton, one daughter; Tracey (Chris) Patrick, Arkansas, two sisters; Veone Tomlinson, Clearfield, Lula Christiansen, Burley, Idaho, several nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by father; Harold Brandon and mother; Selma Brandon, great granddaughter; Kamry Bertagnolli, sister; Goldie Cochran, brothers; Earnest Brandon, Harry Brandon, , brothers in law; Herb Tomlinson and Fleet Christiansen, nephew; Phil Christiansen.
Celebration of life will be held on December 18, 2010 at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd Layton, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at MaKay Dee Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist Mortuary.
