Jerry Ben Christensen, 40, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017 after a tragic accident leaving him with severe brain injuries.

He was born on August 19, 1977, along with his twin Larry, to Kirk and Anne Christensen. Jerry was a devoted husband to Becki Ipson, his longtime sweetheart whom he married on September 8, 2001. He was also the adoring father of Chase and Brielle Christensen, the lights of his life.

From the moment he was born, Jerry was an explosion of energy. He funneled most of this energy into fearless acts of death-defying acrobatics—and he had the scars to prove it. With his remaining energy he built things, amazing things. He was so good at MacGyvering that jury rigging became known among his friends as 'Jerry rigging'. This love of building things led him to a career in sheet metal, in which he excelled. He worked for CCI Mechanical for 15 years, becoming a foreman not long after finishing his apprenticeship. He later moved on to work for Harris and Hart. Jerry was also an avid outdoorsman and loved boating with the kids.

Jerry is survived by his wife Becki; children Chase and Brielle; parents Kirk and Anne; siblings Andrea, Bart, Devin, Larry, and Diana; and in-laws Jim and Mesa Ipson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
