MAGNA, Utah a€" Jerry Vernon Dennis, Jr., 43, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

He was born February 26, 1965 in Riverton, Utah, a son of Jerry Vernon Sr. and Barbara Jean Dermer Dennis.

On July 19, 1986, Jerry married Janiel Kartchner in Waco, Texas.

He served his country with the U.S. Army during Deseret Storm.

Jerry worked as an oil field worker for Superior Well Services.

Jerry enjoyed cross stitching, reading, collecting army memorabilia and aviation mechanics.

Surviving are his wife, Janiel, of Magna; one daughter, Heather Dost, and one son, Shane Armstrong, four grandchildren, Zach Dost, Sabriyyah Dost, Jade Armstrong and Joshaua Burr.

Also surviving are his parents, Jerry and Barbara Dennis, two brothers, Russ Dennis and Rick Dennis and his grandmother, Kathleen Dennis.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
