Jerry Evans

Jerry Elizabeth Browning Evans, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah.

Jerry was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 17, 1939 to George Lawrence Browning and Myrtle Stanford Goddard.  The Browning family moved around and lived in Oregon, California and ended up back in Salt Lake City where Jerry graduated from West High in 1957.  Jerry attended the University of Utah where she met Webb Daniel Evans and married him on September 18, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jerry and Webb lived in many beautiful places and met many wonderful friends along the way.  Staten Island, NY, New Orleans, LA, Salt Lake City, UT, Garden City, UT, Wendover, NV, Portland, OR, and Globe, AZ were places they called home.

Jerry’s occupations included working at the Bank of Utah, a librarian at the Salt Lake Public Library, helping Webb at the Windjammer Restaurant, receptionist at the Nevada Crossing,

and finished with her favorite job as a school bus driver in the Globe School District.

Jerry had a great love of music and theater.  She had a beautiful voice and participated in theater productions at Promised Valley Playhouse, and in any choir that she could participate in.

Jerry had a great love of the Savior Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   She held many various callings throughout her life and loved being in the service of the Lord.

Jerry is survived by her sister Kate Handley (Ken), her seven children, Lisa Turville, Leslie Evans (Dave) Lane Evans, Lyle Evans (Dawn), Lynnette Larson (Trent), Lori Evans, and Lance Evans, 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. from 10:00 - 11:00 am.   Interment in Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 E, Sandy, Ut.
