ST GEORGE, UT‒Jerry Thomas Faulkner, 81, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Jerry was born April 29, 1943, in Ogden, Utah, to parents Arnold Thomas and Verna Lone (Norseth) Faulkner. He was raised in Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Ogden High School Class of 1961.
He retired from the Defense Depot Ogden in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Utah National Guard and served for 20 years. Jerry was a hard worker and in addition to his full-time job and National Guard service he held a second evening job throughout most of his life.
Jerry had many hobbies and passions, He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He spent many summers at Flaming Gorge boating, fishing and jet skiing. He was a member of the Flaming Gorge Yacht Club. Jerry was proud of and loved his boats, “The Dam Fool” and the successor “Just a Bigger Dam Fool”. Jerry had a lifelong passion for cars, he was a talented body and repair man and restored many vehicles throughout his life. His vehicles were featured in several magazines in the 1970’s. He was a member of the Staggs Car Club Ogden for many years. He admired a stylish wristwatch and had a watch for every day of the week and then some. He became an avid reader in his retirement and appreciated the weight and feel of a hardback book.
He moved to St. George, Utah, in 2005 where he established his own business “The Handy Man” he operated his business successfully for over a decade. Jerry loved the beauty and warmth of Southern Utah and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
He loved all animals and had a soft spot for any animal in trouble or threatened. He contributed to several animal rescue foundations. Jerry had several dogs throughout his life and loved them all. He was especially fond of his last dog Buck. Buckey Boy was his constant companion over the last few years.
Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jerry is survived by his children, Staci Gallegos (Ron) Stimson, Brad Faulkner, and Monique Johnson; grandchildren, Sabrina Gallegos, Coby Gallegos, Brittney Lloyd, Brayden Lloyd, and Haileigh Johnson; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Faulkner; mother, Verna Faulkner; and brother, Brent Faulkner
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
