Jerry Lerohl

Jerry Lerohl, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 11, 1938 in Firth, Idaho to Orien and Eunice Lerohl. He attended schools in the Ogden School District and served honorably in the United States Navy.
On August 19, 1960, Jerry married the love of his life, Janice Warner, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together they had six children.
He valued learning and loved teaching. He received several college degrees, including his Doctorate of Education. He taught school for many years, and loved teaching Special Education. He was a principal at Pioneer Elementary and later retired as principal at Hooper Elementary. He organized and carried out many programs for children with special needs.
Jerry had a passion for Martial Arts for over 50 years, resulting in receiving his 10th Degree Black Belt. He appreciated his friendships and associations and memories of each of his Karate students. He enjoyed golfing with his “Monday” buddies, but above all his greatest love and passion was spending time with his Eternal family.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served diligently in many callings including Bishoprics, High Council, temple ordinance worker and served an LDS Mission, with his sweet wife, at the LDS Employment Center. He was a master at teaching the Gospel, and was always looking for opportunities to serve others.
Jerry is survived by Janice, his loving wife, “Sweetie” of 57 years; their children, Carma (Scott) Harper, Sandy; Scott (Chrisdee) Lerohl, Syracuse; Gregory Lerohl (deceased), Steven (Tina) Lerohl, Mendon; David (Amber) Lerohl, West Weber; Leslie (Darel) Webb, Syracuse; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren , three of which are serving full time LDS missions; and one brother, Rodger (Karen) Lerohl, Chicago, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the West Weber 2nd Ward Chapel, 4100 West 900 South. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
