Jerry Dean Nelson, Sr.

April 23, 1929 – February 7, 2014

Jerry Dean Nelson, Sr., 84, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Nathan Adelson Hospice Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was born April 23, 1929 in Beebe, Arkansas to Archie Franklin and Alpha Demona Goodwin Nelson.

Jerry married Eloise King on January 14, 1954. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He worked for American Airlines for 41 years. After he retired, they moved to Las Vegas, where they have formed many wonderful friendships.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an ordinance worker, along with his wife, for 5 years at the Las Vegas Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise; daughter, Sheri Leak, Hooper; two sons, Jerry (Karen) Nelson, Jr., Lehi, and Mark Nelson, Las Vegas, Nevada; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Giurlani, Carson City, Nevada; Betty (E.J.)Stokes, Bountiful; Martha (Charles) Funke, American Fork; one brother, Ray Nelson, Concord, California; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jimmy Nelson.

A private family funeral service will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South in Roy, Utah.

Interment, Hooper City Cemetery.
