NORTH OGDEN a€" Jerry Layne Reed, 60, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at his home in North Ogden.

He was born September 7, 1950 in Ogden, a son of Edgar "Jerry" and Ruth Jensen Reed. He was raised in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1968.

On September 20, 1975, Jerry married Charlene Eller in Elko, Nevada.

Jerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He worked for Volvo-White Truck Corporation for 13 years, after which he owned and operated Reed Muffler and Brake for nearly twenty years.

Jerry loved his family more than anything; he enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandsons. Jerry also liked to cook for his family and work on cars with them. He was a member of the Stags Car Club in Ogden and loved hot rods.

Surviving are his wife Charlene, three children, Layne (Angie) Reed, Ogden; Jessica (Arnauld) Nakaha, Salt Lake City; Brett (Lisa) Reed, Ogden; and three grandchildren, Brycen, Corbin and Eli.

Also surviving is one sister, Bonnie Young, Idaho Falls, ID.

Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, brothers Lael and Kim, and his dog Murphy.

We miss you already Dad. We love you Pa and are grateful for the toolbox of memories you gave us to keep.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
