Jess S. Krebs
SOUTH OGDEN – Jess Smith Krebs, 90, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at a local care center.
He was born November 7, 1918 in Ioka, Utah, a son of Robert Wade and Zina Marie Webb Krebs.
Jess married Kerma Rowcliffe on February 27, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on April 27, 1974. He married Nora France Brown on November 5, 1974 in Ogden. Nora died June 15, 2009.
He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy.
Jess was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings throughout his life including a dedicated Home Teacher. He and his wife Nora served three missions to the California Ventura Mission, Australia Sydney Mission and Colorado Denver Mission.
He was a construction supervisor for Wadman Construction for many years.
Jess enjoyed gardening, singing, building, reading, dramas, and genealogy. He also loved spending time with his neighbors and friends, and traveling.
Surviving are two sons, John W. (Tami) Krebs and Lance P. (Valerie) Krebs; four daughters, Claudia (Tony) Mazza, Sheryl (LaMont) Camp, Korinne (Blaine) Mauchley, Helene (Mark) Henderson, 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one sister, Elorn (Don) Marsing.
He was preceded in death by both of his wives, his parents and one sister, Delma (Bill) Culp.
Joint funeral services for Jess and his wife Nora will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
