Jesse O’Leary Utley
Effortlessly Brilliant
Jesse O’Leary Utley enters this world on December 04, 1980. He departs this world on August 02, 2009. Jesse leaves a wake as wide as the sky.
The big, hard world tests our mettle; it presses us all. Some choose to sway, to turn away from the pressure and pain. Others choose to fight and turn to the light. This is Jesse’s way, whose courage is immeasurable. Jesse is unafraid to step into the unknown, go where other’s risk not, and clear the way. He dares to face the world naked and open his huge heart to whoever is able to accept it.
Jesse’s appetite for life is insatiable. Jesse consumes every thought and feeling in whatever space he happens to occupy. He squeezes every moment dry of perception, draining the senses, but curiously leaving its participants thirsting for more. Jesse is one of those kids, one of those men, who shape his environment by neither actions nor words, but simply by his presence. Fables tell tales of men who are simultaneously frightening and captivating: terrifying because they are different; enchanting because they are effortlessly brilliant. Jesse is one of these men, tenderly grasping your interest and the moment in the palm of his giant paw.
The rest of us need people like Jesse in our lives. He is a good friend, cousin, nephew, grandson, brother, son, soul mate, and father. For every time the world pushes, Jesse pushes back twice as hard. Jesse keeps the world humble and in doing so makes it easier for the rest of us. His absence leaves a huge space that few dare to occupy and even fewer are able to fill. But his memory shines on along with those other brilliant diamonds in the sky, the light from which blinds at first glance, then warms your heart after a while.
Jesse lives on in his little boy, Dominic Winston Jeffrey Utley, better known as Little Nugget. At only three years old, Dominic parades the larger-than-life character of his dad. Jesse leaves behind the love of this life, Chellie Dawn Bills; their connection is at the soul and their love is in the highest spirit. If Jesse is the momma’s boy, then Kathleen Grace Gregory is the momma; the love for her boy is infinite. His little sister, his Minxie, Stefanie Lee Utley, spans the enormity of Jesse’s gentle heart. Eric Keith Utley misses his partner in adventure and longs for another climb to the peak, walk up the river, and laugh around the fire with his little brother. The hearts of Glenna Lee Utley and Lamar O’Leary weep for the loss of their grandson. Jesse’s love for his aunts, uncles, and cousins is honest and everlasting.
Jesse is preceded in death by his hero, his father, Jeffrey Keith Utley, whose wide wing of embrace waits. Jesse’s grandpa, Samuel Keith Utley, and grandma, Cacilia Hildegard O’Leary, may rest easier in the presence of their grandson.
