Jessica Richens

October 13, 1976 — February 14, 2019

Jessica Lynn (Qualls) Richens of Layton, Utah passed away on February 14, 2019 at Davis Hospital due to a sudden illness.

Jessica was born on October 13, 1976 at Shepherd Air Force Base at Wichita Falls, Texas, to Helen Robinson (Johnson) and Michael Qualls.

She is survived by her eternal mate Jeffrey Vern Richens, daughter Kesha Fowler, step-daughter Kristal Kaye Hedley, step-son Jeffrey Ron Richens and step-son Chaz Steven Richens. Her siblings include; Heather Bandiola, Andrew Qualls, Suzanne Meisman, Samantha Gerger, and Brady Robinson.

Jessica was the middle child and always enjoyed being in the “middle of it all.”

Family was the foundation of Jessica’s life.  She found her true love in Jeff and was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple (February 16, 2012), after which they became inseparable. She cherished her sweetheart and enjoyed traveling with him to various job-site locations around the country always making sure everyone had a hot meal. She adored her daughter Kesha and loved her greatly. She found her place in the world when she gained three more step-children to include in fulfilling her role of motherhood. She treasured her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jessica was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Woodland Park Ward). She served in various callings including the Relief Society Presidency which gave her much joy. She was known for her unyielding service to others and had a way of doing it quietly without recognition.  She loved her Savior with all of her heart and was a woman of great faith.

Hugs, love and laughs were a hallmark of being in her presence. Whenever she came into a room, she made sure everyone was hugged and loved immediately. We will miss her radiant smile and beautiful spirit.
