– Jessie Hawkins Allen, 80, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born February 24, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to Jesse R. Hawkins and Emma Chatfield. On October 5, 1945, Jessie married Dean K. Allen in Hyrum, Utah. They spent 59 wonderful years together. Dean preceded her in death on April 4, 2005. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Jessie retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1993. She also worked as a secretary for B-Mart, Northern Utah Glass and Ogden Chrome Plating. She also worked for National Biscuit Company as a telephone operator in New York City. Mom loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jessie is survived by three sons, Richard D. (Elaine) Allen, Roy; Jeffery Kim Allen, Ogden; Michael Jay (Kathy) Allen, Rogue River, OR; two daughter, Sandy (Lynn) Gould, Roy; Kristie (Wayne) Goodwin, Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary E. Allen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson, Danny Dean Allen. Mom, we love you so much and will miss you dearly. Jessie’s children would like to thank the medical staff at McKay-Dee Hospital for the care they provided for our mother, Applegate Hospice, Launi and Lori for the compassion they showed our family and our sweet mother. Thank you to Michael and Chris for providing Mom with special comfort as she passed on to be with our sweet Dad. A special thank you to Dr. Gregory Almony for the wonderful care you provided Mom for the last year. Thank you to Kristie and Wayne for providing your home to Mom in her final days. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Email condolences to the family at www.lindquistmortuary.com
