“Together Again”

Jessie Bouwhuis Parkinson, 88, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016. She was surrounded by family and friends that loved and cared for her so much.

Jessie was born on July 22, 1927, the youngest of three daughters of Jesse and Marie Draayer Bouwhuis. She was raised on the family farm in west Ogden.

She married the love of her life, Harold Dale Parkinson on July 28, 1946. It was later solemnized for all eternity in the LDS Temple. Together they raised a family and ran a dairy farm on a portion of her parent’s farm land that she inherited.

After that they owned the Michele Motel in Montpelier, Idaho for many years until retirement when they moved back to the Ogden area.

Jessie touched the lives of so many with her very sweet and loving spirit. She made friends easily and gave of herself to comfort others whenever she could.

Surviving are her sons, Kenneth G. (Katie), and twins, Larry Dee and Garry Lee; grandchildren, Jessica Raneé Helmer ( Mike) and Rebecca Jackson-Flint (Chad); great-grandchildren, Kassler and Kye; and a special niece, Linda Keller Palfreyman  (Don, deceased);  and  nephew, Charles (Vicky) Windham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Janet Jessie Parkinson sisters, Dena B. Keller and Martina B. Windham Pollock and grandson, Travis Lee Jackson.

The family wants to thank the staff and residents at Lotus Park for making her life so wonderful while staying there. She made many great friends that she loved dearly. Also, the staff at Stonehenge Rehab and Canyon Hospice for their care and comfort to Jessie and her family in their time of need.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with the family at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
