Jimmie C. Ash

Jimmie C. Ash Ogden – Our beloved husband and best friend, father, step-father, grandfather, great- grandfather and son-in-law left us with broken hearts on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 after several months of illness. Jim was born in Overton, Texas on August 25, 1935. He attended the University of Houston on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineer. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company specializing in missile and rocket programs including the Saturn 5 launch vehicle for the Apollo Space Program. He worked at many different Air Force bases across the U.S. including Hill AFB before retiring from Boeing after 35 years of service. Jim married Ginger Barton in 1958 and they were blessed with three children, Mark, Michele and Alison. They were later divorced but remained close friends. In 1979 he met and married his best friend and golf partner Carol Ann. Her children Christine, Kevin and Dena were his extended family and he loved them deeply. For many years Jim and Carol’s motor-home was their home away from home. They saw many wonderful things and met a lot of nice people during numerous winter vacations in Arizona and California and a wonderful tour of the British Isles. Jim leaves behind many loyal golf buddies and countless friends. Special friends Will and Carolyn Norgard will miss Jim’s presence in their lives. After his love for golf, Jim’s favorite hobby was feeding the humming birds, doves and quail in his back yard. He has now passed that responsibility to Carol. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Charles Richard and Rennie Warren Ash. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann, three children Mark Ash, Michele Quin and Alison (Jerry) Sunderland, three step-children Christine (Kenny) Terkelson, Kevin (Theresa) Allen, and Dena (Jeremy) Ercanbrack, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They all know how much he loved them. He has made a profound impact on our lives and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We love you. Thank you for all you have added to our lives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Send condolences to the family at: www.lindquistmortuary.com /stop
