Jimmy Peter James, 77, of West Haven, Utah, our loving husband, father and friend passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013.
Jim was born on November 3, 1935 in Milford, Utah to Thomas Watkins and Ruby "Bobbie" Stewart James. He graduated from Milford High School where he excelled in all sports. He later obtained a degree in Computer Science at Stevens Henagar College. He started his career in the US Army. During his career he also worked for Hercules and as a logistics manager in the Aerospace Division at various Air Force Bases.
Jim and Elaine met, fell in love and were happily married on February 4, 1984. He cherished Elaine and spoiled her rotten, bringing her cocoa in bed every morning and assuring her every need and want was fulfilled. Elaine reciprocated with her unwavering love.
Jim found his way back to the LDS church later in life with the strength and support of his wife helping him overcome some of life''s challenges.
He will forever be remembered for singing old folk songs to the kids and grandkids, while bouncing them on his knee. The kids all remember him for the armpit glow, the rib-a-dib-a-doo and as "The Can-Can Man".
Former colleagues, family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor, and as a practical joker who could always get a smile and laugh out of anyone. Jim was always proud of his vegetable garden, showing it off every chance he got. He enjoyed cooking, canning, baking and was a great backyard chef. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Utah Jazz and BYU.
Jim is survived by his wife Elaine, four children from his first marriage, Tambi (Scott) Calvert, Travis (Lisa) James, Thaine (Deborah) James, Tishla (Alan) Bune; and Elaine''s children, Danny (Patti) Lee, Carole Ford, Jodie (Judd) Taylor; brother, Danny (Sandra) James; 22 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas James; sister, Patsy Smith; and son David Lee.
Jim never met a stranger and was kind to all. He made everyone feel so important and loved. He was a good example, and always found time to serve others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
