Jimmy George Nabor

“Our Love & Our Hero”

Jimmy Nabor passed away on December 31, 2014 at his home with his wife, children and loved ones in Layton, Utah. He was born September 24, 1937 in Grand Junction, Colorado to George and Mary Pollock Nabor. His family left there when he was three years old and he spent the remainder of his life in Layton. He married Barbara Candia on April 23, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden Utah and together they raised three wonderful children.

Jimmy served in the US Navy on the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in 1958. His favorite pastimes included fishing, camping, hunting, and most importantly, being with his loved ones.

Jimmy is survived by his wife and children, Jamie (Earl) James, Jimmy (Bridget), Jeff (Tami); ten grandchildren, Kelsie (Brandon) Bingham, Zach (Tawnya) Stireman, Natalie and Danielle Nabor, Kassie and Casey Morin, Marci Weaver, Aric Vance; four great-grandchildren and one little nugget due any day; siblings, Dave (Sue) Nabor, Gino (Susie) Nabor, Mario Candia, Lorrie, Kathy, Mary (Luther), Rosie Martinez, and numerous loved ones, you know who you are. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Pete, Andy, Ernie, Raymond, infant sister Dorothy, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

I have lost part of my heart, but I know my God has it in His possession. I thank you, Lord, for blessing me with fifty-five wonderful years with a very special, loving man who was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Dad and Grandpa, we love you and will miss you so much. But you will be in good company fishing with your dad and brothers. Catch the big one, the rapala black and gold #7.

Thanks for all the love, prayers, cards, calls, food and support from you all. God bless you for your concern and generosity. We are eternally grateful for your thoughtfulness. Thank you especially, Lisa Yates; we could not have done this without you.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Washington Heights Church, 1770 E 6200 S, Ogden, UT.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
