Joan Farr Allred

Joan, 87, passed away surrounded by her family at Sunridge Assisted Living in Roy, Utah. 

Joan lived in Taylor, Utah and went to Weber High where she met and married her eternal companion, Weldon Gale Allred in the Salt Lake Temple. 

She was a dedicated and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. They loved serving on three missions for the church. Two missions were in Navoo, and one in the Tempe Arizona Visitors Center mission. 

The couple continued to live in Taylor for 35 years, then moved to West Point, Utah for 35 years. They moved to Sunridge Assisted Living for the last two weeks of her life. 

Joan loved her family and enjoyed going camping, motorcycle riding with friends and family. Also loved being snow birds in the winter with beloved friends. 

Joan and Gale were blessed to have five children, GayAnn (Brent) Stuart, Pleasant View; Ken (Cary) Allred, South Ogden; Dane (Wendy) Allred, North Ogden; Tami (Spence) Talbot, Taylor; Shauna Cooper, Layton. 

They have 25 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and one 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Joan was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Alvord Farr, mother, LaRene Stark Farr, great-grandsons, Brekum Fyans, Kyson Andersen, Saint Eteuati. 

The family would like to thank those who cared and loved for Joan from Dignity Hospice. Also Sunridge Assisted Living and for all the care given to Her. 

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the West Point 7th Ward Chapel, 550 North  2300 West, West Point. All who knew and loved her are welcome. 

The family will meet with friends and family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the

Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
