Joan Maureen Flinn

1941-2016

Joan Maureen Flinn age 75, passed away on October 31, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Joan was born in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Emmett J. and Vera Hayes Thomas.

Joan was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She married Lewis Raymond Flinn on April 24, 1959.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24, 1964.

Joan loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren more than anything. She always put others before herself.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and together they enjoyed many adventures.  She loved flowers, trees, birds, wildlife and all the beauty that nature has to offer.  She will be missed beyond measure.

Joan is survived by her children, Dennis Raymond (Kathy) Flinn, Drew Christopher Flinn, Darin Kurtis (LillieAnn) Flinn, Debra Joann (Dennis) Swenson, her brother Russell Thomas. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
