Joan Foster

Joan Burton Foster passed away on May 6, 2023 in Walnut Creek, CA. She was born January 26, 1935 to Alice Holbrook and Charles Kenneth Burton.

She was married to Gary D.Foster, and later to Walt Newman.

Joan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in multiple callings, one being an ordinance worker which she loved in the Oakland Temple for many years.

She had many hobbies that she enjoyed doing : Violin, Ballet, Piano, Gardening, Card Making, Sewing and Crocheting.

She is survived by Walt Newman, Katherine Law (Garret), Wendy Olsen (Dan), Naomi Levine, Kenneth Foster (Cathy) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Gary D. Foster (Husband), Shelly Foster Toolson (Eric) : Joanie (Baby) Colleen Foster Barnes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearfield Park Ward, 838 E. 600 S., Clearfield, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Friday, May 19, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church prior to the service.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
