Joan “JoAn” Rogers Lewis
Joan “JoAn” Rogers Lewis passed away peacefully on November 8, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. Joan was born February 3, 1932 in Logan, UT to Raley Staten and Julia Fellows Rogers of Lewiston, UT. Joan was blessed to have a twin brother, Joe and four older siblings.
She grew up in Lewiston and graduated from North Cache High School in 1950. She briefly attended Utah State University and served a mission in the Hawaiian Islands. When she returned home, she met her lifelong companion and husband, Ray Gene Lewis. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on September 30, 1960. Together, they raised three children, Raejean (Ernest) Herrera, Jesse Lee (Stephanie) Lewis and Vickie Lynne Border. Joan had five grandchildren, Bryttney (Cody) Hansen, Taylor Barrett, Lyndsay (Danny) Ackerman, Keegan J, and Kelsy Alise Border and six great grandchildren.
Joan loved her family more than anything, was very proud of them, and did everything she could to support them.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and beloved husband.
She is now able to dance and play as she did when she is young. Her children are sure that she will be making quilts and fashionable clothing in heaven.
Funeral services will Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary before her family celebrates her life.
