Joan Oliver, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Ogden Regional Hospital from causes incident to age.
She was born August 17, 1927 in Clinton, Utah to Arthur and Lola Sisemore Weathers. She attended Davis county schools and graduated from Davis High.
On April 3, 1946, Joan married C. Max Oliver in Roy, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 28, 1949.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed years of service in the Young Women''s Presidency, the extraction program and as camp director. She enjoyed genealogy work, her sewing club and her Tripoli group. She was a former member of the Challengers Riding Club.
She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and armchair quarterback during the NFL season.
Joan is survived by her husband, Max; three sons, Shane Max (Chris) Oliver, South Weber; Tim J. (Sherry) Oliver, Roy; Stuart Ross (Tami) Oliver, Hooper; a daughter, Trudy (Scott) Hatch, Cokeville, WY; a nephew, Chad (Jolene) Zito, Roy; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill (Jean) Weathers, El Dorado Hills, CA; Luke Weathers, Riverside, CA; Darrell (Ruth) Weathers, Edmond, OK; two sisters, Dorthy Levindofske and Jean Rowe, both of Roy; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ada Stettler and brothers, Ron and Donald Rae Weathers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 3rd Ward Chapel, 5930 South 2200 West.
Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
