Joan Thomas Sprague
Joan Thomas Sprague, 89, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 in Layton, Utah.
She was born May 30, 1926 to William Nathan and Elva Wilde Thomas in Garfield, Utah.
On June 14, 1946 she married Edwin Junior Sprague and was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She graduated from Cyprus High School and attended Brigham Young University.
Joan was active in the LDS Church serving in various positions including an LDS mission with her husband to Hong Kong. She loved being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She had a fun loving personality and was a friend to all she met. She was a loving wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren whom she knew by name and loved dearly.
Joan is survived by her daughter Trudee (Gene) Peterson, her sons, Gaylen (Debbie) Sprague, Tyler (Debbie) Sprague, Doyle (Cindy) Sprague, Kyle (Kathy) Sprague, son-in-law Calvin Porter, and brother Ted (Edith) Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, daughter Kathy, parents, brother Dean Thomas, sister Carol Inkley, and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East, Kaysville. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
