Joan Stitt Stevenson

Joan Stitt Stevenson, 64, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. She was born on January 17, 1957 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of William K and Bonnie J. Owen Stitt. Throughout her life, Joan lived in a few different places before returning to Ogden. She has lived in Grand Junction, CO, Stockton, CA, and Green River, WY.

She enjoyed playing softball in her younger years. She also joined bowling leagues, where she became a great bowler. She loved to go to an occasional hockey game. She enjoyed visiting with her family especially her nieces and nephews, and crafting with her Aunt Sharol. She loved to give homemade gifts such as birthday calendars, knitted hats and scrapbook pages.

Joan worked for AT&T, Mountain Bell, IRS, and was also a nurse’s aide. Her very first job while she was still in high school was at a local K-Mart.

Joan is survived by her brothers, Tim and Ryan Stitt both of Ogden, Utah; brother-in-law, Darren Earl of San Diego, CA; sisters, Pam (Randy) Nelsen and Vicki Sparks both of Green River, WY; and by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bonnie Stitt; sister, Kristine Earl; brother-in-law, Gary Sparks; and nephew, Jonathon Nelsen.

Joan will be dearly missed by all that loved her.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
