Joan L. Thorsted

Joan L. Thorsted UINTAH – Joan Lyn Thorsted, age 58, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, nana and friend, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007. Joan was born October 31, 1949 in Ogden, to Loyd and Betty Kenley in Ogden, Utah. She married Donald G. Thorsted on July 29, 1974 in Elko, Nevada. Joan worked for many years at Weber County and the Utah State Commission. Joan had many hobbies and talents – she especially loved her cross-stitching. She also loved reading, collecting spoons from places she had traveled, and most dearly was her collection of pigs. Anything and everything that had a pig on it is throughout her home. Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends and treasured her special memories with close friends Wally and Bert Lammert and Joanne Cole. She is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Charles (Janet) Thorsted, Uintah, UT; parents, Loyd and Betty Kenley, Elko NV; brothers, Layne (Maryanne) Kenley, Elko, NV; and Kris (Kristine) Kenley, Tuscarora, NV; four grandchildren, Kodie Fasig, Kade Fasig, Jonathon Thorsted and Morgan Thorsted; step-daughters, Dona Compagna, Bountiful, UT, and her children and grandchildren; June Thorsted, Bountiful, Utah; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrie Lyn Thorsted Wright. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Uintah Cemetery, 1500 East 6450 South, Uintah. Following the services, family and friends may gather at the Uintah 2nd Ward, 6660 South 1775 East. Cremation will be under the conduction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
