Joan M. Williams
SOUTH OGDEN – Joan M. Williams passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born June 19, 1928 to David and Florence Manning. She was raised in Hooper and graduated from Weber High School.
Joan attended the Weber Academy where she met and later married Robert W. Williams. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on April 1, 1948. They declared it was the best “April Fools Joke” ever. They were married for 60 years until Robert’s death in April of this year. Now they are together again.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During her life she shared many activities including flying, camping, skiing, golfing, dancing and spent many hours playing her piano. Her life was one with many titles including mother, grandmother, homemaker, cook, secretary, and caregiver. She always had time to listen and was always ready to help with any problem. She was very proud of her family and their accomplishments. Though sometimes frustrating, she was always very outspoken.
Surviving are three sons, Ryan, Raoul, and Rory, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 11 at 10 a.m. at the Hooper Cemetery.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday, October 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. to celebrate her life.
