Joann Kenney
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Joann Kenney passed away at age 81, on Sunday afternoon, August 22, 2021, at her home in Ogden, Utah. She was born in Salina, Utah in August 6, 1940. She was the oldest of five children she was raised by Fern McCellan and Miles K. Roberts.
Her passion was sports, the Utah Jazz and Denver Broncos were her favorite. She always looked forward to the Holidays and never missed an episode of General Hospital, One Life to Live, Days of Our Lives, and All my Children. Her passion was gardening, she loved to grow flowers. She had an Elvis collection and you couldn’t leave the house before she captured her memories on her camera. Camping and fishing were two of her very favorite activities and she instilled the gift of the love of the outdoors in her children by spending most summer vacations in the mountains. She enjoyed her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Having been raised without much she was a creative wizard whether crocheting, redecorating her home or making five meals from what would have been one. She adored dancing, had the voice of an angel, and was particularly fond of Elvis. She had a sharp wit and when comfortable, loved to clown around and make others laugh, especially when with her siblings. Above all, she loved her family dearly. She is loved and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her son, David Jaques; parents; her sisters, EmmaLee (Roy) Tracy and Dorothy Roberts. She is survived by her her children, Corina Fredrickson, Tina Auger, Julie Kenney, Emily Lee, and Jody Lamb; along with 12 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Adams, Ilene Williams and Betty Roberts; and her brothers, James Steele, Alan Roberts, Randy Roberts, Billy Roberts, Elvan Roberts, Jimmy Roberts.
A special thank you to Ilene Williams, Barbara and Veron Adams, James and JoAn Steele who have lovingly sacrificed countless hours over the years to help care for our mother. We are forever grateful for your service and commitment to her. We express our gratitude to her doctor and hospice team.
