JOANNE MARGUERITTE FADEL

1931-2017

Joanne Margueritte Fadel, 85 passed away February 27, 2017. She was born July 25, 1931 to John Hinand and Mary (Krissman) Hinand in Roundup, Montana. On November 4, 1950, she married the love of her life, Raymond Fadel in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Joanne lived her life with a sense of humor and grace. She always put her family first and was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She attended BYU for one year and then became Miss Provo. When she saw the Master of Ceremonies at the Miss Utah pageant, she told her mother, “That’s the trophy I want.” She was crowned Miss Utah and the MC became her husband. Ray was District Manager for Farmers Insurance and Joanne was his business partner. Ray and Joanne were the best team where everything seemed possible. She did the accounting, assisted in Ray’s creative staff meetings, and threw the most amazing parties for over 100 people at a time for work and family reunions. She loved to travel and was the most magnificent cook, gardener and artist. She generously shared her talents with others. It’s been an honor and joy for all of us to be a part of her life.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Rick (Marla) Fadel and Cal (Barbara) Fadel; her daughters, Cynthia (Jeff) Fleming and Darlene (Jim) Kauerz; seven grandchildren Anthony, Erick, Dani, Krista, Kyle, John and Nick; five great-grandchildren; sister Mary (Tad Cannon) Carpenter and Jerry (Carole) Hinand.

We would like to thank Nurse Debbie from Horizon Hospice and Country Care Assisted Living in Farmington, Utah for their love, care and support of our Mother.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Bountiful First Baptist Church, 1915 South Orchard Dr. followed by graveside services at Bountiful City Cemetery.
