Joanne Leatham Hawes passed away at her home with her family at her side on Friday, June 28, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on July 10, 1958 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to V. LaMar and Helen F. Leatham. She was an active child and loved camping, hiking, and swimming with her sister and her many cousins. As a little girl she also loved shooting guns with her dad.

She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1976 and went on to attend Idaho State University where she met and married her true love, Tracy Hawes, on August 30, 1980 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in many places over the next few years and finally settled in Pleasant View, Utah.

Joanne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she faithfully served in many callings including positions in the Young Women''s and Relief Society Presidency, teacher, secretary, Cub Scout leader and Cub Scout Master. She was very fond of the Cub Scout boys and loved working with them.

She loved photography and scrapbooking. Her family depended on her skills at all the family functions to take lots of pictures to document their activitites. She belonged to a scrapbooking club which she very much enjoyed. She also loved making jewelry and camping with her family.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Tracy; son, Dustin Hawes; daughter, Alicia (Justin) Ball; sister, Lorie (Don) Anderson and many other loving friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant View 5th Ward, 900 West Pleasant View Drive. Friends may visit with family on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery in Idaho.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
