On Friday, January 1, 2021, Jodi Stevens Jones, mother of three, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all, earned her wings and took her final trip to the sky.
Jodi was born to Donald Stevens and Sherry Williams Stevens on March 6, 1973 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
Jodi attended and graduated from Clearfield High School and was one of the crowd favorites.
On June 11, 1994, Jodi married Jeff Jones and they later divorced. Together they raised three wonderful children- Abigail, Emily, and Garrett. Jodi loved her kids dearly and always wanted nothing but happiness for them.
Jodi was beautiful, charming, her smile and laugh contagious. Her heart was made of gold, her sense of humor and wit unmatched. Jodi was one-of-a kind, a fierce advocate for the underdog and the lonely. Jodi always stood up for people when they needed an ally, even if that meant standing alone. She was always in your corner. Jodi was genuine, she made everyone feel special and loved unconditionally. Jodi took special interest in those with disabilities and loved serving the special needs community.
Jodi made friends with the world through her job as a flight attendant for Sky West Airlines. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Jodi looked forward to her days in the sky.
Jodi struggled for years with chronic illnesses and was sick every day, fighting a battle none of us can fully understand. Many admired Jodi for continuing to wear her beautiful smile, going about doing good, serving others quietly, and always putting others before herself. When asked how Jodi was doing, she would always respond, “Oh, I’m fine.” even if she wasn’t doing well.
Jodi’s mother was her very best friend and her father was her advisor. Jodi also mirrored her parent’s selflessness. It is fitting that Jodi’s last act of service on earth was donating her beautiful eyes.
Jodi is preceded in death by grandparents Rulon and Viola Williams, Angus and Lona Stevens, stepmother Cheryl Stevens, and her nephew Maxwell Lynn Richards.
She is survived by her beautiful children, Abigail, Emily, and Garrett Jones, her father Donald Stevens, her mother Sherry W. Phelps, stepfather John Harvey Phelps along with sisters Mitzi (Doug) Lloyd, Kristi (George) Dinneen, Michele (Chad) Waldron, Heidi (Mik) Spinelle, Rachel (Jeremy) Richards, her brothers Jason Thompson, Chad Thompson, James (Jamie) Stevens, John “Harv”(Monica) Phelps as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
