Jodi Lynn Kurtz Waddell, 38, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013. She was born on June 22, 1975 in Monticello, Utah, to Derald James and Jeanne Elizabeth Anderson Kurtz. Jodi grew up in Blanding, Utah, was the Seminary Class President her Senior year, and graduated from San Juan High School in 1993. After graduation she attended Utah Valley State College where she received an Associate Degree.
She married and was sealed to the love of her life, Jeff Montague Waddell on December 12, 1997 in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple in American Fork, Utah.
Jodi was a friend to all and her devotion to others brought her great joy. She loved teaching Primary with her husband. She also enjoyed serving as the Primary pianist and in the Relief Society Presidency. Jodi loved visiting teaching and appreciated the joy the sisters brought into her life. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, playing the piano, doing crafts and singing. Jodi showed great hope and determination all her life, even as she battled diabetes and its complications for 31 years.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Jeff; parents, Derald and Jeanne Kurtz; brother, Christopher (Brittany); sisters, Jennifer (Clyde) Jones, Tiffany (David) Parker, and Laurie Kurtz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Lewis 4th Ward, 550 East 900 North, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
