April 6, 1948 ~ December 27, 2015

Joe O. Hernandez, 67, passed away on December 27, 2015 from kidney failure due to the antibiotic Bactrim. Joe never met a stranger. He loved people and made friends easily. He was recognized wherever he went by his Fu Manchu. He was a welder for 23 years but was most proud of his years working for WSU Landscaping Department and being responsible for painting the football field for home games. He was an avid fan as well. Joe made a lot of life-long friends while being involved with Washington Terrace Recreation.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, “Jenny” Jeannette; sons, Steven (Donna) and BJ (Sarah).  He was the best grandpa to MaKayla and Aidan. He also leaves behind his mother, Teddy Hernandez and siblings, Ben (Nora), LaVern Candia, Anna (Ray) Hagen, and Alison (Brian) Corey, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Joe was a casual kind of guy and would be honored if you would wear purple as you say good-bye.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5650 South, Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Interment will be held at a later date.
