Joe Sheya
Grandpa Joe Sheya, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was born on October 11, 1941 to Charles and Fern Sheya. The only son, he was massively spoiled and loved by his parents and his four sisters. Judy, Gladys (Tom) Kathy (Wayne) Natasha (Ray). They were raised in Salt Lake City.
Joe met the love of his life Jill Partridge and were later married on December 15, 1973. They lived together in Layton and raised four children Nick (Raysa), Katie (Brooks), Charles (Mellissa), and Tami (Matt). Together they have 10 grandchildren: TJ, Lissette, Kimball, Avery, London, Belle, Canon, Perrin, Emris, and Eowyn.
Grandpa loved his family more than anything and dedicated his life to making sure everyone was happy. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as a cost accountant and used to umpire softball games at night for extra fun money.
He loved sports and especially loved his Utes and Jazz. He loved being able to take his kids to games and especially liked when they started getting good.
He especially loved all his grandchildren and was always proud of all their accomplishments. He loved spending quality time with them doing whatever they wanted. Grandpa was always there whenever anyone needed him or anything and he will be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Jill) brother-in-law Norm (Judy) and grandchildren Perrin and Eowyn.
