Joel Clark Halverson
May 19, 1935 ~ March 19, 2017
Joel Clark Halverson, 81, passed away on March 19, 2017 from Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Ogden, Utah to C. Charles and Bernice (Clark) Halverson, the 3rd of 5 children. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College.
Clark married Kathryn Jensen in 1955 and divorced after 35 years of marriage. During their marriage, they moved to Uintah Highlands and raised eight children. Clark was a good provider for his family, and worked both as a journeyman plumber and a freight conductor for UPRR. He was a hard worker and taught his children the value of hard work. After retirement he married Anna Johnson and divorced after 20 years.
When he wasn't traveling all over the world, he took great pleasure working in his pine/spruce tree farms and garden. Clark was a coin collector and restored antique cash registers. But above all, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Halverson (Charles Grisim), Craig (Debbie) Halverson, Kent (Robyn) Halverson, Kurt (Holly) Halverson, Chris (Dana) Halverson, Camille Halverson, Connie (Parker) Christiansen, and Cory Halverson; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the caregivers at Apple Village and Brighton Hospice for their loving care.
A graveside service was held on March 23, 2017, at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
