JoEllen Johnson Wheeler Graviet

Layton, UT - JoEllen Johnson Wheeler Graviet returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 21 2016, surrounded by her loving family.  JoEllen was born April 9, 1936 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Myron Benhart and Verna Mae Frisbee Johnson.  She has one younger sister, Glynn Johnson Kimball.  JoEllen grew up in the Sugar House area, and experienced what she described as the perfect childhood.

She graduated from South High in 1954 and attended the University of Utah. JoEllen retired from the Davis School District, where she formed lifelong memories and friendships.

She married Blaine Creed Wheeler in 1956 in Bountiful, UT, and they made their home in Layton, UT. They had 4 children; Gregory, Annette, Carl, and Angie. They were later divorced.  She married A. Jack Graviet in 1998, and were later sealed the Salt Lake City Temple.

JoEllen loved shopping with her daughter Angie, and always looked forward to their annual Mothers Day trip to California. She also loved going to Thatcher to visit her son and family, especially when they branded their cattle.

She cherished her lifelong friends and neighbors. All who knew her loved her and were affected by her kindness, love, and generosity.

Her eternal companion, family and friends will miss her every day. She will always be in our hearts, and we look forward to the day when we can be together again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her children’s father Blaine Creed Wheeler, her son Gregory Creed, and her daughter Annette Maree.

She is survived by her husband Jack, her son Carl Brick (Karen) Wheeler, grandchildren Austin, Landon, Maison of Thatcher, Idaho; a daughter, Angie (Mike) Dastic, grandchildren Natalie, Kate, Luke, Meredith of Bountiful; and her sister Glynn Kimball of Salt Lake City. She was honored to be called Mom by James Bryson, who was an absolute angel to her, and was blessed to be a bonus grandma to Hope and Paige Higley.
