Johanna C. Rutten Jung 1910- 2011
Johanna Jung, 100, died peacefully on January 10, 2011 in Farmington, Utah.
She was born February 15, 1910 in Essen, Germany, daughter of Franz Rutten and Gertrude Brocker. She grew up working as a maid.
She came to America when she was 17, looking for a better life, where she met the love of her life August (Gus) Jung. They married on December 19, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois where they owned and operated a pumpernickel bread bakery. Her one and only child, Larry, was the joy of her life. She was an immaculate housekeeper and everything she did was with excellence. She loved her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
Survived by her daughter-in-law Joy, three grandchildren Larry (Beth), Mike (Robbin), and Susan Wyatt; nine great-grandchildren Holden, Heidi, Alyssa, Kelsey, Brenden, Hayden, Austen, Tanner, and Abby and niece Gerta Gromke. Preceded in death by husband of 74 years, Gus; son Larry and granddaughter Christine.
A special and heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful caregivers at Country Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to her son''s U of U Neonatal ICU can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank in the name of August L. Jung M.D. (NBICU U of U).
Funeral services will be held 11 am Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit from 9:45 a" 10:45 am prior to services. Interment Farmington City Cemetery.
