John Charles Babinsky
LAYTON – John was born September 10, 1949. He passed from this life on October 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He had resided at the George E. Whalen Veterans Home the last few years after being diagnosed in 2009 with FTD, one of the many types of dementia.
John graduated from Davis High School in 1968 and the Weber State Electrician’s Program. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 37 years as an electrician on the C-130. He received many awards for excellence during this time.
John is survived by his wife Sheri of 45 years; his daughters Alicia Babinsky and Angela Babinsky; and his two precious grandsons, Anthony John (AJ) Gallegos and Aiden Gallegos. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Bob and Cindy Titus, and nephews Tyson and Trace Titus.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the George E. Whalen Veterans Home. They took excellent care of him and they will never forget his saying “On the side of it over there.” Also, our gratitude goes to Bristol Hospice. They were there to the very end.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road for his friends to come together and visit with his wife and children. Military Honors will be accorded at 11 a.m.
