John Thomas Bright “Johnny”

John Thomas Bright “Johnny”, 65, of Kaysville, Utah passed away November 13, 2015 peacefully at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on June 3, 1950 in Downey, Idaho to Rulon and Mary Bright.  He was raised (and raised hell) in Bountiful, Utah.  Johnny served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 – 1973.  He served on the ship “USS Dennis J. Buckley DD#808”.  He later retired as a Production Controller at Hill Air Force Base.

Johnny married Karla Wells in 1975, later divorced. He married Jody Jensen in 1981, later divorced.  He married Susan Poulson in 1986, later divorced.  He has two children, Aaron (Jammy) Bright, and Jennifer (Curtis) Cheney, and two grandchildren, Clover and Henry Cheney.

Johnny loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.  He was a great friend and kept friends from his childhood.  He enjoyed taking trips to Idaho with his son to buy lottery tickets.  He was a proud father and grandpa.  We will miss his fun, clever sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, his siblings Joel (Nancy) Bright, Carolyn (Richard) Luckau, sister-in-law Mary Susan Bright, many nieces and nephews who love their Uncle Johnny and his little buddy Walter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David Bright, and nephew Brian Luckau.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment,  Kaysville City Cemetery.
