John Raymond Caley, 79, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Davis Hospital.

He was born February 28, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Thomas and Ruth Tagg Caley. He was raised and educated in Orem, Utah and graduated from Orem High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

On June 14, 1957, John married Clarice Kingsford in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised their family in the Davis County area.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

John loved model airplanes and rockets. He enjoyed fixing things but mostly loved serving others.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice; seven children, Susan Caley, Scott (Mary) Caley, Lynda Caley, Sherrie (Ted) Black, Joanne (Chris) Hokanson, Carolyn (Stacy) Pledger, Douglas (Regina) Caley; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Charlotte) Caley and two sisters, Esther (Grant) Thompson and Margie (Bernie) Gaarsoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Winifred and Marguerite.

The family will meet with friends Sunday, January 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

A private family service will be held before the interment at West Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to family.
