John David Card
John David Card passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the age of 51. He was born on October 11, 1961 and was a lifetime resident of Ogden. John is survived by his loving parents, Janis Wick of St. George, Utah and Jim and Pat Card of Pleasant View, Utah. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Card of Park City, Utah; stepbrother, Payton Nishikawa of Pleasant View, Utah; aunt, Jackie Ellis of Henderson, Nevada; uncle Jay Shepherd of North Ogden, Utah; and aunt, Donna Hodgson of Washington;
He loved his extended family, including nieces, nephews and cousins and he adored his rescued kittens, Baby and Beautiful.
John will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, honesty, and integrity. He was a long time business owner in the community and took pride in providing excellent, friendly customer service. He worked for and became part owner of Kent’s Sports Store for a time. He successfully managed Canyon Sports in Riverdale, Utah and then opened a retail business of his own. John loved to fish and spend time in beautiful places outdoors with his family, especially fishing trips to Alaska with his uncle.
John’s remains will be placed next to the remains of his beloved grandparents at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. The family will hold a private service. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
