John Darwin Clark, 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, November 27, 2011.
He was born August 10, 1932 in Benson, Utah to William Keith and Sarah Ellen Long Clark. He graduated from high school in Grace, Idaho where he was Junior class president and lettered in football and music. He continued his education with several years of college.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as an Airman 1st Class.
On April 10, 1953, John married Lena F. Speas in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had six children together, Scott, Ken, Jody, Julie (Thomas), LeeJay and Jamie. Lena preceded him in death in a car accident on July 17, 1991. He married Barbara Jean DuBuclet Johnson on October 4, 1991 in Inkom, Idaho. Barbara loved him and took great care of him until his death.
John was a member of the LDS Church where he served as a High Priest, Sunday School President, and a genealogy mission with Barbara. He loved to teach and was a Scout leader. He loved to sing In the choir and also loved to lead the choir. He worked hard all of his life, choosing to earn his living farming, particularly dairy farming. He served as Mayor of Millville, Utah.
John comes from a large family, ten children in all. He is survived by five sisters, Marcel Wanner, Inkom, ID; Louise Schwendiman, Newdale, ID; Elaine Cobia, McCammon, ID; Bonnie Groll, Paradise, UT; and Dorothy Clayton, Idaho Falls, ID; his children, Scott D. Clark, Pocatello, ID; Ken J. Clark, North Ogden; Jody Clark, Phoenix, AZ; Lee Jay Clark, North Ogden; Jamie Clark, Syracuse; and Julie Clark Thomas, Tooele; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. John also has two step-children, Drew Beeson, Rock Hill, SC; Heather Griffin, Brigham City; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, two brothers, Don Clark, Glen Clark, and two sisters, Betty Hale and Myrna Price.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 15th Ward Chapel, 2841 West 1300 North.
The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Inkom Cemetery, Idaho at 3:30 p.m.
