John Louis Dittenhauser
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother John Louis Dittenhauser, 82, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 in Ogden. He was born to John and Walburga Eberl Dittenhauser on March 22, 1930 in Buffalo, New York.
John grew up and attended schools in Buffalo. He joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War.
On October 15, 1955 he married the love of his life, Genevieve A. Batog, in Buffalo, New York. They had two sons and a daughter. They lived in Buffalo for about 77 years before moving to Harrisville, Utah about 5 years ago. John worked as an appliance repairman.
John was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed woodworking. He loved spending time fishing and boating with his family. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Genevieve; sons, Michael J. Dittenhauser, Richland, WA and John M. Dittenhauser, Hartsville, SC; daughter, Carol A. George, Pleasant View, UT; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred (Barbara), Buffalo, NY and James (Carol), Buffalo, NY and sisters, Helen (James) and Mary Ann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Walburga.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. James the Just Parish, 495 North Harrison Blvd. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
