Ward, or “J-Dub” to his closest friends, passed away peacefully November 5, 2008. A devoted, husband, loving father, proud grandpa and loyal friend; Ward will be missed by all.
Ward was born in 1924, son of William and Estelle Dixon in New York and raised in Georgia and Texas where he excelled in many sports at Larmarque High School. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force, Ward graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Texas leading to jobs in New York, Michigan, Wyoming, Texas and culminating with a long-term, fulfilling position with Phillips Petroleum Company. Ward, a tenacious crossword enthusiast, avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed meaningful camaraderie of daily walks in Bountiful with his dear friends.
Ward is survived by Frances, his loving wife of 56 years; Kristy Walker of Centerville, UT; Cindy Temps of Glendale, CA; Steve Dixon of Westlake, CA; Jeff and Lisa Dixon of New Orleans, LA; along with eight devoted grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate and remember the wonderful life of Ward Dixon at a memorial service on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 11 am at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Tuesday from 10:30-11 am prior to the services.
