John Michael Foulke
"The mountains are calling. I must go"- John Muir, Naturalist
At the young age of 40, on November 5, 2016, the demons of mental illness claimed John Michael Foulke's life. However, they did not claim his spirit. His love for the mountains and the outdoors is where he found solace and peace. John Michael, with a twinkle in his blue eyes, had a sense of perseverance and courage that few others could match.
John Michael was born July 13, 1976 in Ogden at McKay-Dee Hospital. He attended Davis High School, Weber State University, and Ogden-Weber Applied Technical College. He applied his technology certifications to be a successful end user computer support professional with various companies.
He leaves behind his father, John David Foulke (wife Jeanette Byrd Foulke); mother, Rhea Fullmer (husband Ray Fullmer); and two sisters, Jennifer Smith and Pamela Carlston. John Michael will forever be in our hearts and we will cherish the memories we have of him.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI).
