LAYTON - John Edward George Jr., 77, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008.

He was born October 19, 1931 in Ogden the son of John Edward Sr. and Vera Batchelor George.

John married Betty Judd. She preceded him in death.

John owned and operated the Stockman''s Bar in Layton.

He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, fishing in Alaska and hunting.

Surviving are his friend Mona Peronek, Layton; two sisters, Kathrine Seager, Ogden; Rachel (Trent) VanLeuven, Ogden; and nephews Eddie Seager, Ogden.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Phillip.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 24, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
