John Gossett, 82, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 of natural causes at Peachtree Place, West Haven, Utah.

He was born June 22, 1927 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a son of William Richard Gossett and Bertha Ann Jones. He attended school in Chattanooga.

On February 21, 1964, John married Joy Bodily in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of three sons. They lived most of their lives in Clinton, Utah.

He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam Wars, retiring in 1967. He then worked at Hill AFB as an aircraft mechanic, retiring in 1989.

John is survived by his wife, Joy; sons, William L. (Andrea, deceased), Gallatin Gateway, MT; Edward E. (Gretchen), Clinton; Steven B. (Emily), Farr West; nine grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Bobbi Gossett, Clarksville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and a daughter-in-law.

Funeral services will be at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South on Friday, May 14th at 11 a.m.

There will be a viewing on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Peachtree Place Assisted Living for their loving care of John for the past three years and to Hospice of Utah for their excellent service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or Perpetual Education Fund.
