John F. Hall

John F. Hall, 69, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital from complications of bone marrow cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 26, 1938 in Dover, New Hampshire to Clayton F. Hall and Mary Antoinette LeBel. He was the oldest of five boys, including, Carl, Benny, Reggie and Peter. He graduated from Dover High School in 1958.

John joined the U.S. Air Force out of high school and retired as a MSgt from the 419th at Hill Air Force Base, Utah in 1999. His military life took him to many areas of the world. He was awarded the highest medal of heroism in peace time, the Airman''s Medal for helping to rescue a pilot from a burning airplane at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada on August 11, 1979. John also worked at Hertz Auto Rental at the Salt Lake International Airport for ten years. On November 7, 1959, John married Betty Jean Sevy in Ogden. They are the proud parents of awesome sons, Stephen and David, and adopted son, Brian Hayden. John''s greatest claim to fame is being grandpa to Alex and Kade Hall.

He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys attending games often in Irving, Texas and he especially loved attending NASCAR races in Las Vegas, Nevada with his sons and many friends. One of his passions was air shows and military planes.

John is survived by his wife; sons, Stephen, Riverton; David (Amber), grandsons, Alex and Kade, West Point; Brian (Kristen) Hayden, Colorado Springs, CO; and two brothers, Carl (Margie), Buda, TX; and Reginald (Cynthia), Tyler, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Benny and Peter.

Grateful appreciation is given to Dr. Vincent Hansen and his staff for their special care given to him the last two years. We also thank the staff at McKay-Dee Hospital ER and ICU for making him comfortable in his final days.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

A viewing will be held for friends and family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., at the mortuary.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
