John B Hoyt

John Benton Hoyt passed away peacefully at his home on April 26, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City on March 8, 1935, to parents Conrad R. and Ruth E. Hoyt. He graduated from Ogden High School and then attended University of Utah, Weber State College, and Utah State University where he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education.

He proudly served his country in the military. John worked in various departments of Defense Agencies including the Department of the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas; Department of the Mary in Coronado, California; and the Department of Defense in Ogden, Utah.

John married Carol Jean Williams on July 20, 1985.

John is survived by his stepchildren, Kathleen B. McWain, Karen B. McGuire, Kim Veillon, and Stacey Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Hoyt; and stepson, Scott K. Bramwell.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
