John (Jack) Garr Phillips

John (Jack) Garr Phillips passed away December 13, 2024 in Layton, Utah. He was a kind and gentle man. The son of George Raymond Phillips and Ruby Lowther born February 9, 1947. Jack grew up in Nephi, Utah. He married Jan Stephens on July 17, 1996 in Kauai, Hawaii.

 Jack served with the Utah National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Utah. His professional career began with the Utah Department of Transportation and the Williams Companies for over two decades. Upon retirement he chose a new career as a quality inspector on industrial projects for several years.

 Jack was an avid lifelong golfer and enjoyed countless rounds of golf with his wife, friends and family.

 He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 He is survived by his wife Jan; sister Judy; nephews; Shan and Kim and niece Cassie.

 A special thanks is expressed to his hospice nurse Marcie and the staff of Sunridge Assisted Living and Memory Care.

 A graveside service will be held Friday December 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah.
